No cups?

This post might indeed be redundant.

If you’re gluten free, love to bake & love to experiment with recipes then you’ll know that a scale is your friend. Your best friend.

It will save you time, money and also grant you better success rates.

I bought my scale on marketplace for $15 and it lasted me years. It’s a cheap piece of equipment. You don’t need one that makes coffee & comes with a fire alarm! (That doesn’t exist but you know what I mean.)

I would much rather scale “packed brown sugar” than fiddle around with cleaning cups & guessing did I pack it enough? Above all, a recipe containing liquids—the calzone comes to mind—requires proper quantities. It’s the difference between a dough that rolls like a dream or one that feels like the kid’s slime experiment.

Some recipes are “ok” to use a cup, like pastry flour & scones but, the other reason I give gram measurements is you’ll always have the right amount from your bag. What a pity to have measured incorrectly & then find not enough left in the bag to make that batch of pasta!
